Celebrate Life!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we're Celebrating Life! Thanks to everyone that has uploaded a picture of themselves, or a friend or family member, who is a breast cancer survivor or is currently fighting breast cancer, celebrating life! Or, honoring and celebrating the life of someone who lost their battle with breast cancer. You can still upload your photo!

    Patty DeGrasse - I am a Survivor
My grandmother (on the left) watches her mom (my great- grandmother who has dementia) for about ten years. My grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. She had a lumpectomy, and was then followed by radiation treatment. My grandmother is loving and caring towards everyone, and will always be my hero!
    Janine Pacheco - I am a Survivor
I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in July of 2008. We were shocked! I had mastectomy, chemo and radiation. It changed our lives. It was a challange for sure. I have an amazing family and friends that prayed us through. I met super-star nurses in the chemo and radiation department. True heroes! They were heaven sent. I had 3 friends diagnosed with cancer around the same time, and another friend lost her 15 year fight with cancer just after I started chemo. It rocked my world! But here I am...cancer free and so thankful for all the love we were shown! Strangers would come up and hug me in the store and tell me about their battle. Wow! Truly an amazing time!
CTC Survivors Club - We are all Survivors
From left to right: Katie Harte, Heather Mueller, Michelle Smart, Kelly Resnick, Dee Bledsoe and Tina Bloir. We met at Penrose St. Francis while we were all in various stages of both treatment and disbelief. Sharon, a breast care coordinator at Penrose, formed a survivors group. She intended for women to come together during treatment to educate us and to support each other. Our group bonded in a special, wonderful way and even though we've finished treatment, we still get together to support each other. Cancer touches all of our lives in often strange unexpected ways. It's difficult for people who haven't been through the fire to understand how the flame touches us. Fears, doubts, worries, successes, can be shared and understood by this incredible group of women. Ladies, I honor you. Congratulations on living! Submitted by Heather Mueller
    Christina Kane - I am a Fighter
Celebrating my husbands return from Iraq, and finding out when he came back I was cancer free!
Beautiful Aunt Debbie - I am a Survivor
